My Trip to Hong Kong

On 25th December, midnight, My family and friend left on a trip for Hong Kong. It was a wonderful place, with an amazing culture and well developed infrastructure. I recommend everyone to visit this place, because of its tall skyscrapers, amazing people and fascinating history. We visited 3 places in Hong Kong - Lantau Island: the island where Disneyland is located, Macau: where we spent the days at the Venetian, and Kowloon:the city area of Hong Kong.

Lantau Island

Day 1:

We reached Lantau Island at late morning. We were staying at the hotel Marriott. Since our rooms were not ready, we went out and had lunch at an Indian restaurant.
In the evening we took the train to Hong Kong and walked through all the shops and malls.

Day 2:

The next day, early morning, we left for Disneyland. It was an exciting place, filled with rides and activities. There was one ride called the space mountain ride. It was an extremely scary and fun roller - coaster that gave you the impression of going through a wormhole. Talking about scary rides, there another ride called RC Racer. This ride had a U-shaped track. The car would then go up one side, then do a free fall again to climb the other side. My favourite ride was one called Mystic Manor.

We had dinner at Disneyland and then watched the fireworks at night. They were unbelievable!

Day 3:

On the third day morning, we took a cable car to the Big Buddha. It was a really foggy day, though
the sight was beautiful. There was even a buddha museum.

Macau Island

Day 1:

The next day, we checked in to a hotel called Venetian. It was a very nice hotel and we spent the next 2 days there. We relaxed in the morning, but we went to see a water show in the evening where people performed seemingly impossible stunts in water behind a storyline.

Day 2:

We relaxed the whole day, taking in the size of the hotel. It had a huge mall and a food court too. To me, it was a replica of Venice. It even had a mini canal where we could ride on gondolas: special boats of Venice!!!

We ate at an Italian restaurant called Bene and then retired for the day.

Kowloon City Area

Day 1:

The next day, we took a train to the neighbourhood of Tsim Tsa Shui in Kowloon - Hong Kong's city area. We checked in at a hotel called Royal Pacific.

Then we had lunch at an Indian restaurant. we then took a stroll around the city, traversing a garden and pond.

We had dinner at a fabulous chinese restaurant called Mask of Sichuan and Beijing.

Day 2:

The next day after breakfast, we went to Victoria peak, the highest peak in the area. Once we got to the terrace, we were offered a 360 view of Kowloon city. The people over there gave us devices, called the digital audio tour, through which we could see the history of the top 15 tallest buildings in the area.

After this, we went to the lower floors to see Madame Tussauds waxwork. It was amazing!

In the night, we went to see the New Year's Eve firework celebrations! It was so crowded that we could hardly see anything! The crowd was extending for over a mile!

Day 3:

The next day, after breakfast, we went to a traditional chinese temple, called Wong Tai Sin temple.
There was a method for fortune telling too.

In the evening, we went to the promenade, where we could see the harbour. It was a beautiful scenery.

We left for India by flight.
