My Trip To Ooty

On 21 October 2015, my family and I left for a 3 day trip for Ooty, also called Udhagamandalam. It was a wonderful place, with nature showing its beauty. We stayed in a hotel called Taj Savoy, which was very action-packed. We enjoyed our trip very much.

On the first day, we relaxed at the hotel and did many activities available in the hotel like cycling and horse riding. We even played foosball, cricket and badminton.

The next day, we went to see the botanical gardens of Ooty, a wonderful place full of flowers, gardens and lush green meadows and hills. There were flowers and plants of various types. There was even a map of India made out of flowers and plants, with all the states updated.
Then, we ate an Italian lunch at a place called sidewalk cafe. It was a nice little place which serves you some nice pizzas. We enjoyed our lunch.
Then, we went to our hotel and again played games like carom and table tennis. This went on for the whole day.

The next day was the most action-packed day.
First, we got ready to climb Doddabetta Peak, the highest peak in South India, in the morning. We had to drive to the base camp, from where we had a choice to either drive up or walk up. We, unlike most of the people, walked up as the roads were bad and full of traffic. The parking would have been a problem too. We actually managed to overtake the cars to the top in the end. It is just a 3 kilometre walk and I recommend whoever is going to walk up if they can, as the path is not so steep. It is a much better idea. At the top, there was an observatory from where we can see many towns and villages such as Mysore, Coimbatore, and even the Karnataka border if it is not cloudy.
Then we went to eat lunch at a restaurant.
After that, we went to the Ooty Boat House. We rented a pedal boat for half an hour, enjoying the view. The place was also kind of like an amusement park, with  many rides, activities, simulators and roller coasters. There was an activity called dashing cars, which I did. In that they gave us some model cars which we had to try and dash other cars with. It was quite fun.
The next day was the last of our stay. We packed our bags and did cycling and played foosball for a while. We did horse riding today too.

This is the photo log of our journey -

It was a wonderful and memorable trip to Ooty and I wish to go there again. For those who haven't gone to Ooty, it is a must see place in October.

Hoped you liked this post.
